In regards to the Sampuant or Pueh Waterfall that attracted many visitors recently, Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) would like to clarify that Sampuant or Pueh waterfall is within the area of Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary.
SFC enforcement officers detected a group of people trespassing onto the Samunsam Wildlife Sanctuary area for activities such as four-wheel driving, trekking and picnicking.
CEO of SFC, Zolkipli Mohamad Aton, who is also the Controller of National Parks and Nature Reserves stressed that those activities are prohibited and a trespassing offence.
“We will not tolerate any trespassing, hunting and encroachment into the totally protected areas. Our enforcement officers out there will take actions against trespassers and those caught will be compounded or brought to court, if need be,” he warned in a SFC statement.
