KUCHING, 16 JULY 2017- The crocodile culling and removal programme of SARAWAK FORESTRY Corporation (SFC) continues with the removal of a male 2.5-metre long crocodile from Sungai Sarawak today.
“The current programme of our Swift Wildlife Action Team (SWAT) had commenced last Tuesday, 13 July 2017 and ends today. The crocodile that was snared at the Sungai Sarawak Barrage at 6.00 this morning is estimated to weigh 70 kg. It was hauled ashore at 11.00 am,” said a statement issued by SFC.
“Sungai Sarawak is listed as a major Crocodile Removal Zone (CRZ). The current operation covers a stretch of 3 kilometres of waters. 7 separate sets of ‘hook-and-line’ were installed,” SFC added.
