10 April 2019 : Sarawak Forestry Corporation Sdn. Bhd. (SFCSB) personnel who have been on the forefront fighting the forest fire at Similajau National Park were given a morale boost when the CEO, Haji Zolkipli Mohamad Aton made a surprise visit to the affected site.
The forest fire, first spotted in an area at a settlement nearby and spread into the park’s forests on 24 March, has seen the gritty side of SFCSB personnel who are working close quarters and under the watchful eyes of the Fire and Rescue Department officers ever since in containing the fire. To date, 66 personnel, comprises of 40 firefighters and 26 SFCSB staffs are involved in the operation that is entering its third week now.
CEO extended his gratitude to Fire and Rescue personnel for their assistance in this operation during the debrief on site.
