MIRI, 8 AUGUST 2019 – SARAWAK FORESTRY had organized an engagement session with stakeholders of Piasau Nature Reserve (PNR) this morning to discuss the product development plan. The objective of the workshop was to inculcate better understanding among stakeholders and communities and to get inputs and feedback on the subject matter.
On hand to deliver the welcoming address was SFCSB’s General Manager, Oswald Braken Tisen, who expressed his delight in seeing the strong attendance made up of all the relevant communities and stakeholders, local agencies and academician, setting the plan on the right footing.
He further added that, one of the main project is the Bring Back the Rainforest (BBtRF), which is another initiative by SARAWAK FORESTRY as part of the habitat rehabilitation efforts to bring back the rainforest landscape to Piasau Nature Reserve.
Also present were Piasau assemblyman and the Chairman of Piasau Camp Miri Nature Park Society (PCMNPS) YB Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, UPM Associate Professor Dr. Manohar Mariapan, representatives from MTACYS, SHELL, PETRONAS, Miri Council and Resident office.
