Message From CEO
This year has been exciting and filled with many changes. We are fully functional as a statutory body and entrusted by the State Government to safeguard and sustainably manage the totally protected areas and the amazing biodiversity in Sarawak – covering tens of thousands of species of animals, plants, fungi and other life forms.
We have a clear vision of what we want to be – an agency of excellence in the conservation of Sarawak’s wildlife and its’ totally protected areas for all people, at all times.
To achieve that, we will focus on parks and wildlife, taking care of 66 totally protected areas (TPAs) in Sarawak, including 46 national parks, 15 nature reserves and 5 wildlife sanctuaries. Apart from that, we are committed to protecting all the totally protected species and protected species in accordance with the Wild Life Protection Ordinance, 1998. By enhancing our conservation efforts as well as promoting sustainable eco-tourism, we would expect an increase in revenue collection and transformation in rural communities.
Since the global pandemic forced everything online, the way we communicate and interact with one another has also changed. There are a lot of positive things which have come out from this pandemic and one of them is to revamp the website that is now up and running to keep us connected with the public and visitors.
My team has been working hard to keep this website engaging, interactive, informative and lively. Therefore, I invite you to explore our website and learn more about all we have to offer. I am sure you will see why we love what we do. Feel free to contact our office for any additional information.
Last but not least, we love feedback, good or bad! So don’t hold back, let us know how we are doing so that we will keep improving to serve you better.I CARE
