The “Riverside Logpond Landscape Restoration Project” took place at the Collection Distribution Centre (CDC) Tuyut, in Lapok, Miri. The event was officiated by Deputy General Manager of Sustainable Forestry & Compliance Section, Hj Nizam Bin Kaderi. SARAWAK FORESTRY has been entrusted by the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources (MUDeNR) to execute the Riverside Logpond Landscape Restoration Project which is part of Key Result Area number 9 (KRA9) under Rural Transformation Programme.
Representatives from the timber company, Mr Tsen Tek Fen (Samling) and Mr Busairi Rasit, Regional Manager Harwood Timber Sibu as well as the local communities from Rumah Panjang Agnes and Rumah Panjang Low, were in attendance. On the day, seedlings from various tree species such as Sentang (Azadirachta excelsa), Kapur Bukit (Dryobalanops beccarii), Kapur Paji (Dryobalanops lanceolata) and Bungkang (Eugenia grandis) were planted.
